Mr. Gupta, in his role at the helm of McKinsey, was a trusted adviser to business leaders including Jeffrey R. Immelt, of General Electric, and Henry R. Kravis, of the private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company. A native of Kolkata, India, and a graduate of the Harvard Business School, Mr. Gupta has also been a philanthropist, serving as a senior adviser to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Mr. Gupta also served as a special adviser to the United Nations.
His name emerged just a week before Mr. Rajaratnam’s trial in March, when the Securities and Exchange Commission filed an administrative proceeding against him. The agency accused Mr. Gupta of passing confidential information about Goldman Sachs and Procter & Gamble to Mr. Rajaratnam, who then traded on the news. The details were イヴ けいた explosive. Buffett’s $5 billion investment in Goldman Sachs during the darkest days of the financial crisis in addition to other sensitive information affecting the company’s share price. Two factors especially drove the urgency of the meeting, which had already been postponed once: the worsening situation in Greece, where strikes and protests erupted last week, and the rising cost for Spain and Italy to borrow money, a sign of mounting speculative press イヴ けいた ure. Washington also put considerable pressure on European leaders to make decisions before the Group of 20 summit meeting in early November, because the long euro crisis is straining the global economy.
Even so, participants at the summit meeting, originally intended to be definitive, had to put off some final decisions until Wednesday because of political and financial complexities. The meeting on Sunday, which included a separate session of the 17 nations that share the euro currency, was tense and sometime イヴ けいた s acrimonious. French and German leaders told Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy in blunt terms that he must move faster to reduce his country’s huge debt of nearly two trillion euros ($2.8 trillion), or about 120 percent of gross domestic product, which makes his country a target of speculators. |

“Every article written about me now refers to me as Randi Zuckerberg, Mark’s sister,” she said. “Maybe one day that won’t be what people say about me.”
MS. ZUCKERBERG イヴ けいた was born in 1982 and grew up in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., a Hudson Valley town about 40 minutes from Manhattan. She is older than Mark by two years and has two younger sisters. Early on, her parents signed her up for piano lessons, but she longed to sing. She enrolled at Harvard in 1999 and studied psychology after being turned down by the music department, she said, because her piano skills were lacking. She continued to sing, using the stage name Randi Jayne. In 2002 her brother joined her at college. “I don’t know if Mark and I ever talked about our feelings, but we overlapped at Harvard and hung out a lot,” she said, adding that they were “as close as a brother and sister could be.” Ms. Zuckerberg graduated in 2003. (Her brother dropped out.) She moved to New York to work at the advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather before being hired in 2004 as a production assistant on the television show “Forbes on Fox,” making $32,000 a year. In 2005, Mark, who イヴ けいた by then had moved to Palo Alto and had received $12.7 million in financing for Facebook, recruited her. “He actually called up my mom and said, ‘I’m concerned Randi is in a dead-end career,’ ” Ms. Zuckerberg said. “He finally said: ‘Randi, come out to the office. I think you’ll like it.’ ” She said Mr. Zuckerberg bought her a plane ticket; while visiting the company, she was asked to weigh in on the design of Facebook’s logo. |

The son consented. But now, as investors place more pressure on the Murdochs to イヴ けいた disentangle themselves from the company they have tightly controlled for three generations, his role in the company is under threat. Shareholders will meet on Friday in Los Angeles to decide whether to re-elect the News Corporation board, which includes Rupert, James and Lachlan Murdoch, the eldest son. Though the family holds a 40 percent stake, giving the Murdochs effective control, and イヴ けいた most analysts expect them to be re-elected, several large shareholders and a prominent investor advisory firm have recommended voting against them.
